We start by reviewing the fence type, length, height, access, wood condition, and previous coating. Newer pressure-treated fences, older gray fences, cedar, shadowbox fencing, board-on-board privacy fences, gates, and heavily shaded sections can all need different expectations.
When cleaning is needed, we remove organic buildup, dirt, mildew, and loose weathering using a wood-appropriate process. After the fence has been cleaned and allowed to dry properly, we apply the selected stain based on the project plan and wood condition. The goal is an even, protected finish that looks intentional from the yard and from the street.
